Project Description

Matthew M. Young, Ph.D., is a Senior Research and Policy Analyst at the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA) and an Adjunct Research Professor of Psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa. Dr. Young leads CCSA’s drug use epidemiology research group which includes the Canadian Community Epidemiology Network on Drug Use (CCENDU), the Student Drug Use Surveys Working Group, as well as CCSA’s work on Novel Psychoactive Substances (NPS). His interest in NPS centers on systems to better monitor use and harms associated with use as well as how to create better mechanisms to translate and disseminate available information on NPSs to those who need it (e.g., emergency room physicians, those working in harm reduction programs, youth prevention workers, drug users, etc.)
