Aviv M. Weinstein, Ph.D is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the School of Behavioral Science in the University of Ariel in Israel and he is an addiction specialist. He did his Ph.D in Psychology and Psychopharmacology in the Psychology Dept. and the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Bristol in the UK. He was a visiting research fellow at the Brain Imaging Center, Intramural Research Program (IRP), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) in Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital in Baltimore, MD USA where he was trained in PET brain imaging in drug addiction.  He is a fellow of the College on Drug and Alcohol Dependence and a member of the World Federation of the Societies for Biological Psychiatry. He published book chapters on internet addiction, compulsive buying and exercise addiction. He is an associate Editor on the Journal of Behavioral Addictions and he serves on the editorial board of 10 major journals on addiction and Clinical Psychology Review, academic editor for PloSONE and a review editor in Frontiers in Addictive Disorders and Behavioral Dyscontrol. His interests include pharmacological and psychological treatment of drug, alcohol and behavioral addictions including extensive experience in cognitive-behavior treatment for drug addiction for both individuals and groups. Recently he studies cognitive and brain function in regular users of Novel Psychoactive Substances.
